Here’s how you can get Facebook Paper for your iPhone in India

Facebook’s latest app Paper has been receiving accolades even as it released, a day prior to the social networking website’s 10th birthday. The news aggregation app that also displays your News Feed in a Facebook Home-esque manner seems like it could define the future of Facebook on mobiles. The app, however, is an iOS only one, with release limited to the US for now.

While there is no way for you to get Paper on Android any time soon, you can, shall we say “trick”, iTunes into letting you have the app on your iDevices outside the US. Here’s how you can download Facebook’s Paper on any iOS device.

Head on to the App Store from your iPhone or iPod touch and scroll down till you see the Featured section. Head into it and scroll to the bottom of the page again. You’ll find a button that has your Apple ID on it. Tap on the button and tap on the “View Apple ID” option that appears in a pop-up menu.

You will be prompted for your password and once you’re done with that, you can view the country you entered while you made your account, talking about where you reside. You can then tap on Country/Region setting and select the US. A piece of warning before you go further, though: If you happen to own pending iTunes account credits, an iTunes Match subscription or an incomplete iTunes Pass, this trick won’t work.

When you agree to the new Terms and Conditions, you will need to head back to the App Store and to Paper’s page. Here’s the catch: Apple requires a valid method of payment before you download anything from the store. However, since Paper is free, you can just select “None” when prompted for a payment option and then select the Next button.

This should hold you good till Facebook decides it’s time for Paper to be available internationally.
